Dr.S.M.Sharath Chandra completed BDS inDecember 1985 from Government Dental College, Bangalore. He was a recipient of Colgate Award for highest marks in 2ndBDS.He was sports secretary for two consecutive years. Laterhe workedat Safdharjang Hospital New Delhi as Junior Resident in MaxillofacialSurgery. Completed MDS in Conservative Dentistry from College of Dental Surgery, Manipal, in June 1989. He has worked in various capacities from Lecturer to Principal.Principal at– Sri Siddhartha Dental College (1999-2008), andVyas Dental College-Jodhpur . He was an active IDA member and was given Dr.Ratanchand memorial award below the age of 30 in 1993. He has 21 publicationsin all, of which 6 are in Index journals and 11 Paper presentations at National and International level including 4 TV programmes.On Dental awareness to public. The International Conferences to mention are guest speaker at 32nd APDC Conference May 2010.The topic was Natural root stump vs Implant. Guest speaker at 7th RAK dental Conference Ras-al-Khaimahin May 2013, and he spoke on Recent Advances in Restorative Material. He has been on the panel of examiners for several universities and also a Question paper setter.He has been a Board of studies member and Academic Council member at Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. He has a trade markPatent for a restorative design namelySharonlay patented in April 2011. Recently he has conducted aHands On Course on Sharonlay at the 7th ISPRP Conference – Bhopal and also conducted Hands On Course on Sharonlay at the 29th IACDE & 22nd IES National Conference 5th -7thDecember,Jaipur 2014. He has been an active member of the speciality society and has been part of the organizing committee for several conferences. He is the charter president of rotary Bangalore yelahanka and a free mason for the past 25 years. Presently A full time Practioner at Shivani Dental SpecialityClinic,Treated more than 15000 patients in my clinic till date.
